POSITION SUMMARY:  

The ideal candidate combines advanced Python back-end engineering with hands-on experience developing agentic workflows, reusable Model Context Protocol integrations, secure APIs, and production-quality distributed services. You should be comfortable independently executing complex assignments, reviewing designs and code, mentoring less-experienced engineers, diagnosing problems across application components and environments, and preparing complete, well-tested capabilities for review and promotion. You will succeed in this role if you balance technical innovation with security, reliability, auditability, and disciplined software-engineering practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Back-End and Agent Development: Design, develop, test, integrate, and maintain Python services, FastAPI applications, asynchronous components, and LangGraph workflows, including state management, conditional routing, checkpointing, recovery, parallel operations, and multiple tool calls.

• MCP and Enterprise Integration: Author reusable Model Context Protocol servers, tools, schemas, and integration patterns that securely connect agentic applications with approved enterprise services. Develop and validate integrations using simulators, emulators, mock services, and representative test environments rather than live customer systems.

• Azure OpenAI and Approval Workflows: Implement Azure OpenAI tool-calling, model abstraction, prompt and context handling, grounding, structured outputs, error handling, configurable approval gates, and human-in-the-loop controls.

• Data, State, and Auditability: Design and implement PostgreSQL data models, persistence services, LangGraph checkpointing, run-state management, audit logging, traceability, authorization checks, and related data-access patterns.

• Testing and Engineering Quality: Develop comprehensive pytest suites covering asynchronous, unit, integration, behavior-driven, and end-to-end testing. Maintain appropriate fixtures, mocks, simulators, test data, regression coverage, observability, and secure-development practices.

• Troubleshooting and Root-Cause Analysis: Diagnose complex issues across APIs, agent graphs, tools, models, databases, containers, and development or test environments. Document root causes, implement corrective actions, and add regression protection.

• Code Review, Mentoring, and Innovation: Participate in design and merge-request reviews, developer pairing, and demonstrations. Mentor less-experienced engineers, evaluate emerging technologies, develop assigned prototypes, and present recommendations that may improve performance, security, reliability, maintainability, or mission value.

• Governance and Delivery Readiness: Follow established technical, security, review, and promotion controls. Promptly elevate unclear requirements, unresolved decisions, security concerns, access limitations, and proposed deviations from approved direction. Ensure assigned work is complete, tested, documented, and prepared for ASCENT review and promotion.

• Documentation, Collaboration, and Data Protection: Maintain API specifications, tool schemas, implementation diagrams, model and prompt documentation, test evidence, and configuration guidance. Collaborate regularly with GCC and U.S.-based ASCENT team members and perform all work within approved systems, repositories, datasets, and development environments.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, computer engineering, artificial intelligence, or a related discipline, with equivalent relevant experience considered in place of a degree.

• Five or more years of progressive back-end or software-engineering experience developing, integrating, testing, and delivering production software.

• Advanced production-level Python experience, including FastAPI, Pydantic, asyncio, object-oriented and asynchronous design, dependency management, performance optimization, automated testing, and troubleshooting.

• Hands-on experience designing agentic workflows using LangGraph and LangChain, including state management, checkpointing, conditional routing, recovery, parallel execution, and reliable handling of multiple tool calls.

• Experience authoring reusable Model Context Protocol servers, tools, resource interfaces, schemas, or framework components.

• Experience integrating Azure OpenAI or comparable enterprise AI services, including tool-calling, structured outputs, prompt and context management, grounding, error handling, and human-approval workflows.

• Experience with PostgreSQL data modeling, persistence, transactions, application data access, and LangGraph checkpointing or comparable workflow-state management.

• Advanced pytest experience, including fixtures, mocking, asynchronous testing, integration testing, and validation using simulators, emulators, WireMock, service virtualization, or mock APIs.

• Experience implementing audit logging, traceability, authorization, approval gates, secure-development controls, and application observability through logging, metrics, tracing, or health monitoring.

• Experience designing RESTful APIs or distributed services and working with Docker, GitLab or comparable source-code management, CI/CD pipelines, and automated quality gates.

• Advanced debugging and root-cause-analysis skills, with the ability to review technical designs and source code, mentor less-experienced engineers, and provide constructive feedback consistent with approved standards.

• Strong written and verbal English-language communication skills and the ability to collaborate with geographically distributed teams, including reasonable overlap with U.S. business hours.

• Ability to comply with company cybersecurity, confidentiality, intellectual-property, export-control, and data-handling requirements.

DESIRED:

• Experience using automated code-quality and security tools or an AI-assisted engineering environment such as Devin Desktop.

• Experience integrating with virtualization, observability, infrastructure-monitoring, systems-management, or endpoint-management platforms such as VMware vSphere, Splunk, SolarWinds Orion, or Microsoft Configuration Manager.

• Experience with vSphere simulators, WireMock, Azure Container Apps, Azure Container Registry, Azure Key Vault, or comparable simulation and cloud technologies.

• Experience with behavior-driven development, retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings, semantic search, vector databases, or grounded AI workflows.

• Experience working with U.S.-based teams in highly regulated, security-conscious, or mission-oriented environments.

• Relevant Microsoft Azure, Python, software-development, AI, cloud, or cybersecurity certification.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:  

1. Base Salary - Competitive gross basic monthly salary, commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, certifications, and specialized technical expertise  

2. Night Shift Differential - Provided in accordance with applicable Philippine labor requirements and company policy.  

3. Statutory Benefits - SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, 13th-month pay, and applicable holiday pay in accordance with Philippine law.  

4. Allowances - Applicable de minimis or work-related allowances, subject to company policy and employment terms.  

5. Health Coverage - HMO coverage subject to the eligibility date and terms stated in the employment offer and company policy.
